OUR STORY
Starting of something big, one of the best Dive Centers in Aqaba
Back in 1998, when Cpt. Abdul Wahab Almaaitah – one of the founding members of our Navy’s Frogmen team and one of the most accomplished SCUBA divers in Jordan – launched what would eventually become Arab Divers, recreational Diving in Aqaba was virtually unheard of.
A dream becomes reality
The Captain is a true Aqaba diving pioneer. He was one of the first on the scene, and remains one of the area’s top sources of trustworthy SCUBA knowledge. Together, we’ve created something truly exciting. And we’re just getting started.
OUR STORY
Aqaba comes to life overnight
(and we get a spectacular view)
First, the world discovered the awesome diving we enjoy year-round in Aqaba. Suddenly, it was a secret hotspot known only to few divers.
Then, in 2001 the Jordanian government initiated massive tourism-supporting improvement projects around Aqaba. One of these created the opportunity for us to move to the perfect new location – it was a bit of a risk, because we’re slightly outside the city center, but we never regretted the decision.
The first time the Captain laid eyes on this view from our quiet, gently-sloping hillside just few hundred meters from one of the best beaches and minutes from all the best dive sites in Aqaba, he knew Arab Divers was in for a very exciting future.
